Giving

Why we give

One way in which we can express our thanks to God, for the great salvation He won for us in Christ, is to give money to support gospel work throughout the world. As a CU we have expenses and running costs (for instance, room hire, publicity material, catering); we are therefore very reliant on giving from both CU members and those outside the CU. Furthermore, we recognise that our financial position is very privileged compared with other groups and university CUs, and so we are able to support them in their work of proclaiming the gospel. Below is a list of the projects we are currently supporting.

How to give

There are four ways you can give:

  1. You can make one-off payments from your bank account straight into the CICCU bank account using internet banking. This is very simple — all you need to do is click on the 'transfers and payments' section on your internet banking and put in the CICCU bank account details (raven login required) and the amount you would like to transfer.
  2. If you would like to donate on a regular basis, you can set up a standing order by either:
    • setting it up online using internet banking or over the phone. On internet banking there is usually a button to 'set up a standing order' and all you have to do is put in the CICCU bank account details (raven login required) and the amount you would like to donate and it's done!
    • filling in a standing order form (raven login required) and hand it to your bank. If you are not a Cambridge student please email the treasurer, Will Hogg, who can easily send you a copy of the form.
  3. You can write a cheque made payable to 'CICCU' and send it to the CICCU Treasurer, Will Hogg, Jesus, Cambridge (or send it via UMS if you are a Cambridge student).
  4. You can
using Paypal. Please note, however, that for each donation that you make 1.4% of the amount you donate goes straight to Paypal and never makes it into the CICCU bank account! If you would prefer the full amount of your donation to go to the CICCU, please take the time to do an online transfer from your bank account or write a cheque.

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can claim back tax on every donation that you make, so please do fill out a Gift Aid Declaration form.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to enquire further about giving to CICCU, please talk to the treasurer, Will Hogg.
